Blueberry Bliss Smoothie

Blueberry Bliss Smoothie is what i love to have when i am taking a break from the everyday green smoothie.  It is creamy, sweet and delicious. You know I’m a big fan of smoothies. They are such a great way to pack a bunch of nutrition into one snack. In this smoothie, antioxidant-rich blueberries are blended together with coconut water and chia seeds. Even though this smoothie doesn’t look green, it is still packed with great nutrients. This delicious smoothie can be had as breakfast or post-workout snack, it’s high in protein and sugar free. Best part is that it only has three ingredients. Coconut water, blueberries and chia seeds.

Have you ever tried adding chia seeds to smoothies? Here’s my secret to making sure that the chia seeds get broken down a little and don’t overpower the smoothie: add your liquid and the chia seeds and blend before you add any other ingredients.

Tip: You can add a scoop of protein powder to add your protein intake. Personally, i prefer the vanilla vegan protein powder as the flavour doesn’t overpower the taste of the blueberries.

Ingredients

For the Smoothie

  • 1 1/4 cup coconut water
  • a teaspoon chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries

Directions

  1. Add chia seeds and water and blend together first.
  2. Add the blueberries and blend until smooth.
  3. Enjoy!
