Carrot and Ginger On The Green

Alright, we all know when we are a few weeks into the new year, we will have a lot of things on our plates. Trying to juggle a lot of things at the same time, trying to meet our goal deadlines.That can be a bit overwhelming and you will need to take a breather and relax. My week was a bit like that and so i decided to have a mental break,a day were i could do things that were relaxing and refreshing. I started with making myself a Carrot And Ginger On The Green.

Lately, my relaxing day is made up of a great workout which is then followed by a refreshing, nutrient packed smoothie. A good start to my day for sure. My go to is a green smoothie all the time but today have decided to switch it up and go a bit bright orange. This recipe did the trick and below is a quick list of the health benefits:

Ginger: reduces inflammation, is antibacterial, help protect the respiratory system, and other healthful properties.

Pineapples: help with aiding digestion, boosts immunity and speeds up recovery from surgery.

Carrots: Is Antioxidant- and Vitamin A-rich, beta carotene-packed, a vision booster, free radical fighter.

Lemons:  are Vitamin C-packed, antioxidant-rich, natural antibiotic, skin brightener.

Spinach:  a superfood, loaded with tons of nutrients in a low-calorie package, important for skin, hair, and bone health. Provide protein, iron, vitamins, and minerals.

Ingredients

For the Smoothie

  • 1/2 cup carrot juice
  • cup of frozen or fresh pineapple
  • 1/2 Tbsp fresh ginger (peeled )
  • a Tbsp lemon juice
  • handful of baby spinach
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk

Directions

  1. Make carrot juice by adding carrots and filtered water to a high speed blender and puree until smooth. 
  2.  Add  the rest of the smoothie ingredients and blend on high until creamy and smooth. Add almond milk as needed.
